The fast, efficient and clean (low carbon emission) communication is the need of the day. In the era of the available tool of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), the opportunity lost is unlikely to be appropriately compensated subsequently. The traditional postal contact brings us only to those with whom we wish to associate whereas the ICT provides us the opportunity to reach to those who wish to be associated. Further it takes the minimum of time to disseminate any information we wish to part with.

The website is one of such medium to contact the people immediately anywhere in the world. The Institute of Engineers (India), Uttarakhand State Centre (IEI, UKSC), Dehradun has created its own website during January 2009, which was designed and developed by the then Honorary Secretary Dr, Shailendra Mishra with the help of students of Dehradun Institute of Technology (DIT), Dehradun. The time in the modern era desires periodical modification and updating of any system as the advancement of technology is very fast. I am happy that this desired modification and updating of IEI, UKSC, Dehradun website has been completed by Shri Vinay Kumar Omar and Shri Praveen Kumar Mittal, final year students of DIT, Dehradun under the able guidance of Prof. Anant Bhaskar Garg, member Executive Committee ((IEI, UKSC, Dehradun) and Associate Head, Centre for Information Technology, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun.
